How it works?
To successfully establish a connection and send requests to the ServiceNow API, the ServiceNow Scope activity needs to retrieve an OAuth access token. To retrieve the OAuth access token it needs your ServiceNow instance Client ID, Client Secret, and endpoint URL.

To enable the outbound automation between UiPath and ServiceNow, the activities establish an authenticated connection to the ServiceNow API via the ServiceNow Scope activity.
After the connection is established, the other ServiceNow activities send requests to the applicable ServiceNow API operation(s) using the parameters you enter in the activities' input properties. If the requests are successful, the activities return the response values to the output property variables.
How does it connect?
Before you can use the scope activity to establish a connection to your ServiceNow instance, you must complete the steps outlined in the Setup guide. After you complete the Setup steps, you can begin building your automation projects. The following step-by-step instructions on how to use the ServiceNow activities are vital in guiding and create a working sample of the different activities so that you can verify the connection to your ServiceNow instance and get familiar with the input/output data types. |
